Welcome to my home page.  Within the field of Theatre Arts I am a costume and scene designer.  My combined interests in art, history, art history, music, literature, dance, anthropology, and archaeology led me to theatre where all of these disciplines are called upon by the designer.  Each time I design scenery and costumes for a play I am required to do extensive research on the time period, the people, their dress, their surroundings, their way of life and so on.  I love this aspect of  the design process because I am always exploring new cultures or looking at my own culture in a new way.  My special interests include the study of dress, the 18th century and gender.  I balance my love for research and design with time out-of-doors, travel, and gardening.
