Not as well known as many other violin concertos but a wonderful piece. My recording is by Dylana Jenson. She came to the attention of Irving Kolodin through a letter that mentioned among other things the fact that in Frankfurt, Germany, she had substituted for Pinchas Zuckerman as soloist in the Tchaikovsky violin concerto just weeks after celebrating her fourteenth birthday.
Other less familiar but very beautiful examples include works by Bach (two), Max Bruch (number 1 and the Scottish Fantasy), Ernest Chausson Poéme for Violin and Orchestra, Edouard Lalo (Symphonie espagnole), Mozart (four), Camille Saint-Saens (number 3), Henri Vieuxtemp (numbers 2 and 3), and by Henryk Wienieawski (number 2). Finally, if your soul needs sugar, there are three violin concertos by Nicolo Paganini.Cello Concertos
