SPECILIZED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Sinoatrial Node (SA node)

These fibers separate into Bundle Branches

Depolarization and Repolarization cause electrical image that is the EKG.Each part of the tracing tells us what is happening in heart.

Space between P Wave and QRS

SA origin has P wave but may look strange

AV node origin has normal QRS

PREMATURE BEATPremature Atrial Beat (PAB or APB)

Premature VentricleContraction (PVC)

Ventricle origin has wide QRS and no p wave

Many and varied p waves, irregular line

No P wave, jagged line, strange QRS

Impulse at SA node

2. AV Block - p wave but no QRS

3. Bundle Branch Block - QRS is different looking depending on where the block is
