The Guide Bot

An assistive Robot that provides obstacle detection and other useful amenities for the visually impaired

There are 285 million people estimated to be visually impaired worldwide. About 65% of all people who are visually impaired are aged 50 and older, while this age group comprises about 20% of the world's population. With an increasing elderly population in many countries, more people will be at risk of age-related visual impairment. Our humanoid GuideBot provides a possible alternative to the traditional guide dog. As no training needed and more functions available, GuideBot will become the biggest competitor of the guide dog in the job market. It's taken a lot of time, hard work and dedication, but the successful GuideBot makes every one of us proud! Our GuideBot is fortunate to be selected by a panel of celebrity judges as the winning robot among all six projects.
